Spewing Money Away
Munchausen, Jan 29 2010
These last few days I've been reading up and studying, getting ready to start playing. I had a casual stint with poker a couple of years ago, but forgot about it after about a month. So I've been harmonizing and tuning up what I remember from back then, and I feel like I'm building up a decent grasp of the basics. Relearning it allover after such a long time feels like it's giving me a measure of clarity that I didn't have before. Plus now I'm completely committed to mastering it and making loads of money without doing disgusting honest-work @,@
So, this morning I read a very wise and to the point article: http://archives1.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Number=6251739
It says the three big things that matter to be a winning player are:
a) Get in the habit of always playing your best, getting careless or cocky sets you back a lot.
b) To not spew money away by making glaring and obvious mistakes that you should know not to make.
c) Not to validate your opponents' bad play by paying them for their mistakes.
It was very inspiring so I set off to the tables with a passion. Unfortunately, I had to learn the hard way, and I lost a lot of cents doing it. I'm putting a sample here so I don't forget my lesson:
